Dr. Sci. Nguyen Minh Khoi, Director of NIMM has made a speech to Minister and the delegation about the activities of NIMM over the past few years. NIMM has implemented 53 multi-level tasks of science and technology and Decree 115/2005/ND-CP on consolidating organization and activities.

Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu has highly appreciated the activities of NIMM in scientific research and technological development, and implementation of the projects assigned by Ministry of Health.

Minister has directed NIMM to pay attention to 10 main contents :

• Overall planning of medicinal materials development from now to 2020 and next years.

• National Program of medicinal materials development until 2015 and 2020

• Constructing National Medicinal Plan Garden

• Developing Vietnamese ginseng into National Products

• Building the standard of medicinal plant strains, processes of producing medicinal materials according to GAP

• Collection of National standard medicinal materials

• Atlas of Vietnamese medicinal plants

• Coordinating with Departments, Units of Ministry of Health proposing well-known experts, businesses with high potential of medicinal plant development

• Coordinating with National Institute of Drug quality control in examining the drug quality from medicinal materials

• Enhancing the work of directing to provinces especially the ones which have conditions to develop medicinal materials, mechanism associating Institutes, Colleges and enterprises in the country and abroad to develop the centers of medicinal materials. Minister Nguyen Quoc Trieu has asked the Functional Departments belonging to Ministry of Health to create favorable conditions for NIMM to bring into play research ability and develop medicinal material products into commodities.
